Hi, I’m Anitra. Currently I'm Head of Course Design at RMIT Online where lead the team creating online learning experiences across a range of disciplines and specialise in design studio learning and teaching. I went to the Monash University design school MADA, and I hold a masters degree from the Graduate School of Education at the University of Melbourne. 

I have extensive experience in online learning design and delivery, from guiding course and program development to writing, building, and teaching courses. Learning design brings together my writing, teaching, and curriculum design experience with the service and UX design experience gained from practicing and teaching graphic design. 

 

In my current role at RMITO I lead learning design, media, and innovation projects as well as crafting policies, guidelines, processes to ensure quality learning design and delivery. I manage learning experience design team and work with the RMITO education technology, sales and knowledge teams and partners to deliver quality student-centred learning experiences.

 

I have a wide range of graphic design experience in a variety of roles in Australia and the San Francisco Bay Area. I was Senior Book Designer for Oxford University Press, and Penguin Books Australia, and in the San Francisco Bay Area, Creative Director for the design studio London Road Design and the large software company Intuit Inc.

 

I’ve been a design educator since 2002, first as an adjunct for California State University then as Online Director and Co-Chair for the School of Graphic Design at the Academy of Art University, San Francisco. Here I ran the School of Graphic Design curriculum, building and teaching online classes including; research methods, branding, typography, and design history. I also managed the online student cohort, supervised graduate students, and lead the full-time and adjunct online faculty. 

 

I live in Melbourne, Australia, and I enjoy the problem-solving and diplomacy necessary for academic development work, working remotely, and keeping a large distributed team running smoothly.
